My lovely friend Steffi invited me to the chocolate show last Sunday.  It was held in the rotunda at Roy Thompson hall. The were tons of booths set up with samples.  This is something I wouldn't usually pay to go as it was a pricey one day event. The entrance fee was $25 and to get the larger bite size samples you can purchase tickets and trade them in for samples ($10 for 10 tickets). It was also a good place to get Christmas gifts because there were so many options and specialty chocolate.

In case you ever had the urge to eat a shoe.

Chocolates with 24 K gold flakes sprinkled on top. Now you can shit gold too!

The one place I was going to pay for a sample. They ran out way too fast!

Korea- Food Porn

It's been over two months since my last post and almost a year ago when I traveled to Korea. I've only had the motivation recently to review, sort and edit them.

Eating in Korea was a bit of a challenge, primarily due to their main dish being Kimchi and other dishes that make you feel like your mouth is on fire.  It's also hard eating while traveling alone whereas if you are in a group you can all order a bunch of things to share.  Seoul was great as I stayed at Seoul Base Camp hostel and managed to save some money and cook a bit of food (you can spend all month eating a different type of instant noodle every day!). My high school lover Connie was living in Seoul at that time so she took me around to a couple places! One of my favorites was Mubanna Chondak. Not exactly traditional Korean food but dang! That chicken... mhmm. Places to stay away from KFC, I should have known better.

During my stay in Jeju Island, I didn't dine out often as I was part of the temple stay that included food. All the food that we ate were vegetarian and grown on the farm there. They days were I left the temple to do some exploring around the temple, I primarily ate little things here and there at food stands.  They were all relatively inexpensive and so yummy!

August Babyyy

Happy August!!! So much has happened since I last posted. I started a new job, celebrated a birthday, and just got back from the music festival Osheaga in Montreal. In more blog related news, I collaborated with my photographer friend Ronnel for the first time. You can see some of his other work here

The Free People skirt I'm wearing in this photo is probably one of my favorite purchases this summer. It's super flowy and makes me feel like a total gypsy. I usually don't shop at Free People because it's a little over my budget.  However, there's a Free People sample sale booth that never fails to show up at the biannual CAFTCAD movie wardrobe sale. Those who live in the Toronto area should definitely check it out!

And for shits and giggles. Paying tribute to all those awkward head against graffiti headshots that people do. P.S I really do love ramen.

Happy (Super) Belated Canada Day!

Happy Friday!!! I can't believe we are almost halfway through July! Also it's also my first post of the month..whhhhhhhaaaat. Talk about discipline and motivation!

Hope all my Canadian readers had a lovely Canada day! I ended up going to the Rib Fest at Centennial Park, and watching the fireworks after.  It was my first time at a rib fest and MAN was I overwhelmed. There were so many booths all selling ribs and displaying their trophies. How does one choose where to eat? I chose the Kentucky Smokehouse because a) they were from amuuuurica, rumor has it that they have the best ribs and b) they had the longest linup.  When in doubt go with the most popular one.  My friends and I went into a major food coma because right after the ribs we had  other fatty foods like funnel cake and the blooming onion.

PS Sometimes I feel like I'm cheating in life...looking relatively thin while gorging myself with crazy amounts of fatty foods.

Have a good weekend yaa'lll!
