Backstage at The Collections- Mac Cosmetics, Aveda, and Tips Nail Bar

I had to pleasure of being invited backstage during the Collections, where I got to see the hair, makeup, and nail process for Chloe Comme Parris and Label.

Chloe Comme Parris' look was inspired by the California girl hanging out on Venice beach.  The wavy hair was left down and a french braid that started on one side of the head and ended off on the other side. Tips Nail Bar created super cute look using a neutral color as the base (Skin by Mac Cosmetics) and lining it with a bright pink (Snob by Mac Cosmetics) around the edges. The makeup was effortless, minimal, and had a dewy wet finish to the face.

Label's look was more futuristic and finished compared to Chloe's.  The hair was either flat ironed or pulled into a high twisted ponytail.  The makeup was a bit edgy with the use of a  bright orange red on the lips and eyes. The two toned nails, on the other hand, had a  sleek, feminine, and minimal look to it which was achieved by using Skin, and Disco Tech (both by Mac Cosmetics).

Toronto Fashion Week- Paraezo Couture & Travis Taddeo SS13

TGIF ya'll!!! These two weeks went by simultaneously fast and slow... if that's even possible. The last day of fashion week started with Paraezo Couture.  The first dress that came out was absolutely gorgeous except for the fact that there was the largest bee chilling out on the back of her train. It then proceeded to attack the audience, which resulted in high pitched squeals.  It was the perfect addition to the epic wedding music soundtrack that was playing during the show.

Toronto Fashion Week- Matis by Lucian Matis SS13

Matis by Lucian Matis is Lucian's second line that is more affordable and geared towards the career woman.  I thoroughly enjoyed this collection and it was nice to see the same design aesthetics in Lucian Matis' line emulated in his second line. My favourite look had to be the sequined top and shorts... because what girl in their right mind wouldn't want to look like a disco ball?

Toronto Fashion Week:Mikhael Kale, Melissa Nepton, Bustle SS13

There's nothing like trying to go about your day while its pouring rain, let alone during a day where it requires you to travel to different locations during fashion week at rush hour. Why do umbrellas flip?!  We can clone a sheep, send a robot onto mars,  but are unable to design a flip proof compact mechanical umbrella? WHY?

Anways...I attended 2 shows and a presentation from Mikhael Kale in the Distillary District. Then had to hop back over to David Pecaut Square for Melissa Nepton and Bustle. Enjoy the pictures!
