More Mint

My every growing obsession to own everything in mint green continues. I got these pants on sale at Zara for about $35 a while back.  I hardly buy anything regular price just because I know the markup for some of these products are absolutely ridiculous. Therefore, right now is the perfect time to go shopping because many stores are trying to get rid of their spring/summer clothing to make room for fall collections.

This is also the first time I rocked the fishtail braid in public. I thought with long hair, I would have more fun doing different hairstyles, but it's gotten to the point that it's so long, washing, drying, and untangling it takes up most of my time. Any recommendations for good hair products that help restore damaged hair?

Ugly Things

This is the outfit I went vintage shopping and thrifting with the bff couple days ago.  Do you guys ever find yourselves drawn to ugly things when thrifting? I bought this floor length green real leather skirt with a vent in the back that was way to wide for me in hopes of altering it to make it look good on me. It can either go really good, or really bad.

Life has been pretty chill lately. My mum came to visit from Raincouver last month for a couple of weeks. It was nice to have a full time mum around for the first time in my life. Now it's back to my summer projects which include reorganizing / renovating my room, a couple of DIYs, photoshoots, and reading fun books (opposed to gross books that the University makes you buy).

I (aka me and my Father assisted and supervised because I cannot be trusted with dangerous and heavy objects) just finished building an Ikea bookshelf today. I must admit it was quite the challenge unboxing and taking the pieces out.  Building it was a whole other level. I took a nap inside the box after as well (there is picture proof of this may or may not find it on twitter).

What is your best/ worst Ikea story?

If Rainbow Fish Laid Eggs

I've known about these 'caviar' nails for quite some times now but was reluctant to do a post about it.  All the combinations and designs I have tried only made my nail diseased or an insect flew by and decided to lay eggs on my nail. I've recently tried out a combination which created a 3D rainbow pearl effect by using Turqoise and Caicos by Essie and Clear Microbeads by Reflections (you can get that at your local craft store). The pictures don't really do the effect justice as there's a lot more shine in real life.

Strippers and Girl Crushes

It's been a while since I've done an outfit post because the bff photographer was away in Raincouver for the past week or so.  Here's the outfit I wore out last Friday with the girls to watch Magic Mike. I heard great reviews about this movie but didn't really know what to expect. Plus I've seen the original footage of Channing Tatum stripping from back in the days.  Let's just say that I wasn't too impressed.

The audience consisted of teenage girls and older women (and the odd man who is probably still washing out his eyes with Purell after he was persuaded by his wife to come see this movie), both who screamed like a school girl whenever they saw some ass. The only guy I looked forward to seeing was Joe Manganiello. But why get excited about him when I've seen the goods on True Blood? The biggest crush I had was probably on Olivia Munn of all people. What did you guys think about the movie?

The bff thought it was the best idea to have me spin around in 5 inch shoes on uneven pavement. I'm really not as happy as I look

China Glaze on Safari- Fall 2012

I know it's still summer but the fall collection Safari by China Glaze is out! The colors in this collection seemed a bit uninteresting to me so I only picked up 3 polishes.  The glitters seem gorgeous but I'm going through a nonglitter (aka lazy) phase. I just find that they chip too easily and are too hard to take off.

Elephant Walk sometimes looks green/blue and sometimes grey depending on the light. It's got a subtle silver shimmer to it but not in the in your face kind of way.

Jungle Queen- A dirty grey purple depending again on the lighting. This has a subtle pink glitter that can only be detected under bright lights or the sun.

Prey Tell- The usual dark vampy red/brown, nothing we really haven't seen before. I picked it up because I didn't have many dark reds in my collection.  I do have to say the application was a bit weird. It was hard to get an even coverage on this.

Anyways happy Canada Day to all the poutine eating, maple syrup drinking readers!
