All Suited Up: Bling Pt 3

I've done this look before but thought I should bring back a blinged out version just for New years.  I  used a metallic silver as the base with a layer of glitter and black gemstones for the buttons.

Have a fun, safe New Years!

Kapow! : Bling continued

Let the glitter commence! It looks like Christmas is the time when I channel my inner Kesha the most.

I've used a black polish for the base and a glitter polish that had  fine pieces of glitter as well as octagonal shaped glitter on top. The glitter nail polish was purchased at Daiso for two dollars. I had to push the glitter around quite a bit because of the art styled brush, but this polish was worth my every single penny.

OOTD: Light As Air

The pipeline hike is one of my favorite places to visit when I go back home. It's a 4km man made jetty that leads you right in the middle of the Georgia Straight.

I was incredibly lucky and spotted a sea otter out there today. And no, I didn't get a picture. By the time I realized the 'log' had a cute paws, and reached for my camera, it was long gone.

Current Loves

Trying to relax stresses me out. Go figure. Drinking tea, reading, and conversing with my mushroom socks help a little. Sometimes they're too optimistic and happy which makes me want to punch them in the face. I'm convinced that they shit rainbows.

OOTD:No Brain-er

This is one of my more boring everyday looks. I got these tights from H&M last year without realizing they had a back seam which I love. Obviously when I went back to get more they were sold out. I'm pretty sure they were gone faster than the free samples at Costco. Difference is that they always make more after they run out. And yes, I'm one of those who line up again after the first round. I'm shameless like that.

Anastasia by Diego Uchitel for Gravure

I love everything about this editorial. The photography by Diego Uchitel, the styling by Lisa Mosko, the poses, how they have edited the pictures, and the attention to detail with the chandelier linework mimicking the wired dress in the last picture.  More importantly, it's the feeling I get when I'm looking at these photos, they're so romantic and poignant that it almost sends me into a lucid state of mind.

When Good Ideas Become Bad

A couple of months ago I decided to buy this dress on the Forever 21 Canada website. It was mainly the high low hem that really caught my eye, and it was a stretchy knit black dress which is, in my opinion, a very safe choice. Let's just say that I was very very wrong.

The low part of the hem cut way too close to my knee (okay to be fair, I am short BUT WHO HAS LEGS LIKE THAT??) The material was super thin and sheer. The crochet like knit bodice had sequins woven into it which screamed old lady. Furthermore it had this weird dolman sleeve that wasn't too loose but restricted me from recklessly flailing my arms around (this I do often).

Basically what I am trying to say is that, I put this dress on and I looked like a confused old witch stuck in a young woman's body the morning after Halloween.

Thankfully I got my store credit and picked up this chain bib necklace a couple days ago. I absolutely adore this because it reminds me of chain mail armor!

And this studded pyramid cuff was a gift from my dear friend (the same one who called my jacket a potato sack). The weight of this bracelet is amazing, more importantly, it fits me without falling right off my wrist. Wonder what snide remark she has to say about this....

OOTD: The Potato Sack

So I've finally been able to rope a friend into helping me take pictures for my blog. I don't usually do outfit posts for many reasons, mainly because I don't have time, and I am awkward in front of the lens.

I present to you my pretendingtobewarmandhappyoutfitwhenreallyIamjustfreezingmybuttoff outfit. Furthermore, my friend calls this the potato sack jacket. I happen to love the potato sack jacket very much. It used to be from a costume warehouse but I found it at a vintage store in Toronto. The weight of the wool is quite heavy which I love and has a giant dolman sleeve!

Vancouver VS Colorado, Dec 6, 2011 + New Banner

So life back home has been a bit busy due to chiropractor appointments (yes I have a back of an 80 year old), doctor checkups, and...the dentist. I'm proud to say I only got caught with one tiny cavity. Unfortunately this resulted in getting the needle and having a fat numb face the whole day including the Canucks game I went to.
The boys killed it with a 6-0, though there were some casualties. I will not bore you with hockey talk, but if interested, will direct you to the BEST Canucks hockey blog ever.

Oh..HAI!
