Elephants in My Kitchen

I picked up these Elephants on sale for about $15 from DeSerres. These decals were originally meant for a baby room but I figured they looked better in my kitchen instead.

The elephants were drawn by an amazing Canadian artist Julien Chung. His work is absolutely adorable!
You can purchase these amazing decals online at ADif for $48 but if there's a DeSerres store near you, they're being discontinued so they go for about $15.

WW4W @ H&M

Wednesday night was the We Wear White 4 Windfall event at H&M. Windfall is a charity that provides basic needs items to people struggling with poverty in the GTA. 15% of all sales goes towards WW4W that night. The event itself was A- mazing. Security guards, catering by L-EAT, red carpet, free booze, can't get no better than that! Plus met a wonderful blogger Erica Wark!

Loving H&M's Spring Collection!

Me and the husband Melissa.

My favourite girl of the night. Yes she is holding cheesecake lollipops.

Coconut Cupcakes. Sooo gooooddd!

I ended up buying a full length pleated skirt that had nude lining with sheer black chiffon on top. When I put it on, I felt like a medieval princess. If anyone hates it, I'll just say I bought it under the influence.

Douchebags for Cancer!

Marc Jacobs recently started a campaign called "protect the skin you're in" featuring naked fashionable celebrities including Heidi Klum, Dita Von Teese, Victoria Beckham, and... Sean Avery NHL hockey player for the New York Rangers. As a fashion, and hockey lover, I cannot begin to fathom why anyone would like to have an unattractive ahole on and off the ice naked on their shirt. The Copyranter says it best " Douchebag Sean Avery does nude skin cancer tshirt".

This t-shirt can be yours for only $49.99 USD!(I would pay $49.99 to not have him on my shirt)

Maybe I don't understand, and this is the type of guy kids look up to nowadays. Or maybe I'm still bitter about a fashion nobody like Sean Avery getting to intern at Vogue. Either way, he's still a whole lot of douche in a bag.

Are you a Belieber?

Here it comes again. Round 2 of Justin Bieber nail polish by Nicole by OPI. As a nail polish fanatic I am speechless. I've got to give it up to the marketing team. They must be doing something right as it is sold out in more than 3000 stores across America. Still there is something wrong about picking up a bottle of nail polish from a stand with Justin Bieber's face on it.

Colors from left to right:
Red-y to Runaway Love?, One Time Lime, I'm a Belieber, My Lifesaver , Not a Gold Bigger , I've Got Bieber Fever, and Make U Smile.

No hate on the Biebs, but I just find it odd that he would endorse and be the face of something he would never use. I am curious as to what the light purple and gold shade would look like on, but the thought of someone asking me "what shade is that?" and me answering them with "I'm a Belieber" frightens me.

The Best and Worst of the Golden Globes

The Best:

Mandy Moore looks stunning in this draped navy dress that contrasts her brown hair beautifully. The sheer one shoulder detail is exquisite!

Emma Stone in a simple Calvin Klein dress. Absolutely adore the minimalism that is going on, from the lines of the dress, to the drop earrings.

Kelly Osbourne in one of the more interesting dresses (by Zac Posen) onf the night. The dress compliments her figure and nude panels contrast the black very well.

Helena-Bonham-Carter rocking her Vivenne Westwood. Enough said.

Leighton Meester is SO stunning in this dress. Everything is so right with this look, the semi formal hair, the dress, the earrings... LOVE!

The Worst

Piper Perabo in a boring Oscar de La Renta. Uninteresting, except for the bow which I find fascinating yet awkward.

Natalie Portman in Viktor and Rolf. I know , I know, she's pregnant but REALLY? the rose? the pink? It's like a Valentine's day dress gone wrong.

Michelle Williams... what are you wearing? Unflattering form, and the daisies on the strap are horrendous.

Juliana Marguiles looks like she's wearing a saronge. I've decided.

Halle Berry looks hot... but the kind of hot that straddles a burlesque dancer and a street walker.

Christina Hendricks no no no! Gorgeous curves, but all I can look at is that giant flower shoulder pad :(

High Tea at Windsor Arms

Super fun and exciting news! Just finished a photoshoot for a magazine I help style for called Défilé at the Windsor Arms hotel at Yorkville in their Purple Gaze Tea Room. The shoot was at 6:30 am so everybody was pretty out of it. On top of that, I had a nasty cold and fever! Anyways, enjoy the sneak peak.

Pre-fall 2011- Assymetry

I have to say, I quite enjoyed the pre-fall collections! Many designers included very classic colors such as beige, navy, grey and black in their collections which I absolutely adore.

From left to right: Alexander Wang, Alexander Wang, Carolina Herrera, Carolina Herrera
Vera Wang, Vera Wang, Helmut Lang, J Mendel

I find the whole asymmetry thing going on so fascinating and when things don't balance out, it's visually more appealing. Whether it be the hem lines, shoulder straps, design details, or pleating, I approve!

Joyeux Noël Monsieur Ford

I've FINALLY gotten my hands on the Holiday issue of French Vogue!!! Spotted it in a NewsStand store in Richmond Centre but they carried each issue a month late. Needless to say, I visited the store twice a week to see if it was in stock.
Never have I been a French Vogue reader, but Tom Ford as the editor in chief for the Holiday Issue was too good to pass up.

One of my favorite spreads Cadeux photographed by Sharif Hamza featured young girls dressed in very sophisticated clothing and shoes that are much too big for their feet. The spread is so genius playing on the fact that many high fashion models as young as fourteen or fifteen are breaking into the industry. On the other hand, there’s something uncomfortable and frightening about seeing a ten year old girl’s face plastered in makeup, giving the camera bedroom eyes.

Another spread photographed by Terry Richardson called Pussy West (couldn’t help but laugh) are one of my favs. Like the usual Richardson style, the spread is over sexualized, but the story of the editorial is highly entertaining, and the photography is A-mazing. Especially branding the male models bum with “TF”.

Deborah Lippmann- Wicked Game

I bought this nail polish recently at Murale but haven't got around to trying it and doing a review. Once I saw it I knew I had to have it!. The iridescent purple gray, sometimes green in the light reminded me of the peacock feather! Mind you, Wicked Game is from Deborah Lippman's Fall Winter 2009 collection so it's not exactly the newest color.

Deborah Lippmann- Wicked Game
Murale- $20

The consistency is a bit watery compared to my usual China Glaze or OPI, but nonetheless, I had no problems with it streaking. It was also a bit too sheer for my liking had had to do 3-4 coats before I got the color where I wanted it to be. Not sure if I'm going to put this nail polish on my go-to list because I found the color in the bottle more appealing than it being on my nails.

Incredibly Late Boxing Day teeny tiny Haul

I'm sorry to say that my first post is purely about a failed shopping day. I'm back home in Richmond for the holidays where my shopping disease is more contained than it being in Toronto. Nonetheless, here it is..

Rachel Roy Gold Spike Bracelet- absolutely obsessed with the spikes! The Bay- Rachel Roy. (They are still on sale at www.rachelroy.com for $32.50)

Knee High Boots- I've been meaning to buy myself for a pair for awhile but I'm SUPER picky with boots. They've got to be comfortable, a decent heel height so they won't be worn down as quickly etc. So they're not exactly the Stella McCartney thigh highs (http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/48897) that I've been eyeing but they'll satisfy me for now.

www.myspringshoes.com- $
55.99

Blow Fish Countdown flats- Again with the spikes! They're not leather but surprisingly comfortable. The only negative thing I have to say is that the pointed toe makes my big feet look... bigger
www.sterlingshoes.com- Blowfish- $20

Banana Republic Ring- absolutely adore EVERYTHING about this ring. The antique gold finish, the slanted face of the ring, and the embedded rhinestones. The perfect hardware for punching someone in the face.

Banana Republic

Daisy watch/necklace
- I was drawn to this immediately due to the white daisy which had a striking resemblance to the Daisy used in the Marc Jacobs perfume. I adore the little clock on it (even though it seems silly when someone asks you the time and you go "hang on just let me grab the daisy hanging against my chest")

The Bay- Expression

As you all can see, it's not much of a haul. I am a little disappointed with the sales going on in stores. Most of the pre X'mas sales were the same as the boxing day sales. However, FRET NOT. All shopaholics know that the good sales are in mid-late January! Bring It!
