DIY: studded fanny pack

Urban Outfitters came out with a studded fanny pack a while back but could never imagine myself wearing one... that is until I started to put together my styling/on set wardrobe kit. Since it's always so crazy styling on location I thought I needed something handy to put all my double sided tape, scissors, etc while keeping my hands free. Anyways, I ordered a genuine leather fanny pack on ebay (you could probably find a nice worn in fanny pack from goodwill, Value Village or any second hand store) and the studs are from Spikes and Leather.

Rachel Roy Frenzy

Aside from the spiked earrings in the last post, I also snagged a pair of super sick earrings and a killer ring recently from The Bay. I hardly wear earrings anymore, but I guess I'll just have to make an exception for these ones.

Here are some of the ones that I thought were super cool on their website!

Shiny Things

This dress is one of my purchases a while back. I found this BCBG gem at a second hand store on Queen street. The material is polyester but its got this weird plasticy shiny sheen to it making the draping even sharper. Plus it's got pockets. How can I say no to a dress with pockets?

Birthday Suited Up

Yes it t'was my birthday recently, yes this is my variation of a casual 'suit', and yes, I made a reference to How I Met Your Mother (for the 3 people who got that).

Anyways, good grief, two outfit posts within 1.5 weeks? I usually don't do outfit posts because
a) They are time consuming- finding a nice location to shoot at, waiting for the right weather, blackmailing asking a friend to take photos for me, editing, etc.
b) I feel incredibly awkward trying to smile and look pretty in front of the camera. Most of the time, I'm in a competition with myself to see who can most resemble a pug.
c) I don't particularly enjoy looking at photos of myself ( I also avoid mirrors and any reflective surfaces)

Sunday Musings

I'm still getting back into the swing of things by blogging more regularly. This upcoming week is probably the first week all summer where I don't have everything planned to the T. As I mentally prepare to be un-busy, a few random thoughts have crossed my mind.

1. Why do escalator hand rails move faster then the stairs themselves? Multiple times I have reached the top of the escalator with my butt sticking out and hand 2 feet in front of me. Perhaps this is a male invention.

2. Why do autoflush toilets flush before you are done/get up?

3. Why do stores think a sale means marking down an item that is regularly $599.99 to $595.99?

Every time I do a nail post I try to avoid Mint Candy Apple by Essie. As I glance over my polish collection a voice (very similar to to Gollum's) says "PICK MEE". There's just something about this color that I love. It's light, girly, fluffy, and most importantly, makes my skin look a little more sun kissed. Contrary to popular belief, wearing white does not bring out your tan as well as a very pale and light blue/green. When most people get darker in the summer, their skin turns into a golden yellow/brown tint. Pairing that dark sunkissed glow color with its complementary color maximizes the intensity and vividness of each individual color.
